Another month has passed and June is over. In June, I shared a total of three YouTube Shorts and one YouTube video.

The 27-minute YouTube video I shared with you in June consists of scenes depicting daily life in Istanbul during the spring months.

March coincided with the Ramadan period in Istanbul. As a result, the city was quieter and more deserted than usual. The ‘mahya’ illuminations, reflecting the spirit of Ramadan, had been hung on the mosques. The video begins with these images.

We then watch a cheerful seagull washing itself in a historic fountain whilst it is raining. This was one of my favourite parts of this long video.

Later on, the video features the wildlife and flowers adorning Istanbul’s various parks, as well as the locals enjoying these beautiful sights.

Flowers, a distinctive feature of spring, adorn not only Istanbul’s parks and gardens but also its mosques. My video continues with images of a 16th-century mosque housing some of the most beautiful of these flowers.

We then watch footage from an ordinary day on the Galata Bridge, which spans the Golden Horn right in the heart of Istanbul. Here, as always, the fishermen take centre stage.

The final section of the video consists of footage captured on my camera during a boat trip on the Bosphorus. Istanbul is synonymous with the sea. And spring in Istanbul would not be complete without a Bosphorus cruise amidst the blooming Judas trees. That is why this video, which captures the spring months, concludes with these images.
