“Superstar” is her nickname… Ajda Pekkan has continued to contribute to the Turkish music scene without interruption from the early 1960s to the present day. To be honest, this dedication of over 60-years alone is worthy of admiration. However, when you consider her captivating voice and memorable lyrics, she truly deserves to be called a superstar.

This month, I’d like to do something a little different and dedicate the entire month to this remarkable artist. In the first week, I’ll be sharing with you the songs Ajda Pekkan released in the 1960s. In the weeks that follow, my posts will cover the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and beyond, spreading out over the whole month.
