In Turkish and Arabic music, the fundamental characteristic of musical compositions is referred to as the “makam”. Although some of the hundreds of maqams are no longer used, the Hicazkâr maqam is still widely employed. In this blog post, we will present examples of pieces composed in the Hicazkâr maqam.
