Turkish Music: Modern Folk Üçlüsü

Founded in 1969, the Modern Folk Üçlüsü (Modern Folk Trio) gained prominence for their contemporary interpretations of Turkish folk music pieces. They represented Turkiye at the Seoul Song Contest in 1978 and the Eurovision Song Contest in 1981.

Their own compositions, popular songs, were also listened to with great affection, particularly in the 1970s and 1980s.

Another interesting feature of the group is their children’s songs. Babies born in the 1980s in particular grew up with their children’s songs. Who knows, perhaps I will feature these children’s songs in the next music-themed blog.
