He passed away in Istanbul in 1712. Of his nearly 400 compositions, very few have survived to the present day. The first piece in this collection, ‘Nevâ Kâr,’ is considered one of his most distinguished works. He lived in the same century as Bach, one of the great composers of the western Classical Music.
