I intended to photograph sunflower fields, which are at their most colourful during this season. However, I was surprised to see that all the sunflowers were in a desperate condition due to the unusual dryness and high temperatures.
On the way back, with no vivid photograph on my camera, I saw these wind turbines. They were silently dancing. To me, this dance seemed a little dystopian and surreal. On the one hand, I witnessed humankind’s “conquest” of nature, and on the other, I saw how fragile nature is. This inspired me to produce a video of the ‘silent dance of wind turbines’. The relentless dance of the three-armed giants bursting forth from the sunflower fields…
I recorded the video in the city of Tekirdag. More precisely, I filmed it near the industrial town of Çorlu, which is surrounded by endless agricultural fields.
I hope you enjoy the video! If you are interested in joining photography-specific routes in Istanbul, you can contact me via the NotToMissMoments website contact page.
